Education

The image has a rich yellow background. Black text spells 'Education'. Below the text, are three large icons, all in black. From left to right, there is a graduation cap, an open book with a lightbulb emerging from it, and a stack of three books.

Education is fantastic for self-development, self-fulfillment, improving job prospects, and integrating into a community. Is is great that you’re considering continuing or perusing education.

You should first explore your options to help you decide what subject area and type of course you’d like to study. Speak to as many people as possible to make an informed decision. If you’re of school going age, be sure to speak to your school guidance counsellor.

You may wish to undertake a part-time or evening course, or a year long course, you can do this with the Cork ETB. This is a good idea to be certain of your subject choice, and help strengthen future application.

If you wish to study at third level, you may be eligible for a Sanctuary Scholarship to study an undergraduate degree (three to four years) at university. Click here to learn more about Sanctuary Scholarships in Cork.

For reference, click here to read the National Framework of Qualifications.

Please do speak to a BRIJ volunteer to discuss your options and for support in your applications.
