Lord Mayor hosts Reception for BRIJ

The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Dan Boyle, hosted a reception for BRIJ at Cork City Hall.
The Lord Mayor welcomed BRIJ volunteers and residents of several direct provision and emergency accommodation centres. Also in attendance was Deputy Lord Mayor Honore Kamegni and members of the Local Authority Integration Team (LAIT). The Lord Mayor spoke of the importance of volunteering in Irish society, but how policy makers should not be complacent as a result of this.
Agnes Earley, Chairperson of BRIJ, thanked the Lord Mayor for hosting the reception in recognition of BRIJ. Agnes outlined how volunteers had spent more than 90 hours in the first month of 2025 connecting with residents in direct provision and emergency accommodation centres, supporting access to resources, integration, and justice.
